Tuna fish is a great source of protein and omega-3s, but it’s also good source of potassium. I like the Wild Planet brand for canned tuna because they preserve the natural omega-3s and do not add water or oil. The large national brands of tuna lose most of the omega-3 content during their pre-cooking process before the fish is combined in the can with water or vegetable oil. Those same companies then sell the extracted omega-3 oil to supplement manufacturers to use in the production of pills. Ugh.
I also like that their tuna is lower in mercury. According to their website, “Our founders have pioneered the ‘Low Mercury’ classification for seafood.”
Now…back to the deliciousness…
This recipe is SO easy to whip up and slap on some sprouted whole grain bread. It’s also easy to pack for lunch or serve to a kiddo. It’s healthy and delicious, so enjoy!
